Summer event 2026: On an (un)habited island!

🌴 Jong Erasmus MC Summer Event: On a (Un)inhabited Island 🌴

On Thursday, August 20, we swapped Erasmus MC for a more tropical destination. For our annual Jong Erasmus MC Summer Event, we gathered at Café het Witte Huis, which for one evening was transformed into our very own (un)inhabited island.

And uninhabited? Definitely not. With more than 140 attendees, this was one of our best-attended events to date! Early in the evening, the terrace quickly filled with flower leis, Hawaiian shirts, and all kinds of tropical outfits. Over drinks and delicious bites, old friends caught up while many new connections were made.

Of course, there was plenty to do. The photobooth provided the perfect opportunity for vacation-worthy snapshots, while those curious to see themselves from a different perspective could be immortalized by our caricature artist. The results ranged from remarkably accurate to, let's say, artistically interpreted. 😉

As the evening progressed, the energy picked up. The DJ kept the music going, the dance floor filled up, and some guests seemed to have embraced the tropical dress code just a little more enthusiastically than others. The photos of swirling flower leis, improvised Hawaiian skirts, and a packed dance floor speak for themselves.

With over 140 visitors, an amazing atmosphere, and Café het Witte Huis buzzing late into the evening, we look back on a truly successful edition of our summer event.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped turn our "uninhabited" island into a very lively one. We look forward to seeing you at the next event! 🌺🍹
